I can do magic.
I can turn bottles
Into smiles
And smiles
Into kisses.
I know your tastes
And I'll make mixes
That'll turn your cheeks red.
We'll share a smile
Laugh a while
Then end up in bed.

All the while inside my head
Things are still mixed up, on the rocks.

Aww, I love this one! It can be read in a fast paced rhythm or a slow romantic rhythm. Excellent use of rhyme and the concept is so romantically cute, I can't wipe the smile from my face because the memories it brings me.

Well done!!

I know this is very short, but I like it anyway. The only line that isn't my favorite is "then end up in bed." After such great imagery, it seems very matter-of-fact and up-front. Regardless, it's a great piece. I definitely have to agree with the rhythm of it. It's almost like it's meant to be performed, reminiscent of Lawrence Ferlinghetti's work.

Sorry I haven't critiqued this until now. I wish I could say I've been busy, but really, I've just been distracted. I'm barely keeping up with my own work by now. Also, I'd like to say that I did read this the second you posted it. I just haven't commented until now.

It's ok, I don't expect comments. In fact, I rarely check DA anymore, because I'm usually either at work, or focusing on my own things. I'm going to make an effort to read more on here. I've actually set aside about an hour a day for reading. I'll definitely dedicate some of that to DA at some point.

I also have more poems to post, so I guess I'll do that soon!

Can't wait to read them.

I need to devote more time to reading and writing, too. Work seems to have gotten in the way a bit, and I hardly even touch pen to paper right now. I really need to fix that. For the most part, I've been writing songs. I'll try to post more poetry and prose that have been in the works soon, though.

So, it seems that you and I have both abandoned DA for obscenely long portions of time. On the plus side, that does mean I haven't actually missed too many pieces from you, though it's rather sad the world interferes so much.

It's hard not to like this piece, I think. You're rather good at these short poems.

Thanks :)

I haven't been posting a lot of my new work on Deviantart. Most of it hasn't really been that great. I've been going through a dry spell of sorts. Usually when they end it's with a bang, so I'm hoping for a really good piece soon! Last time I had writers block this bad was just before I wrote The Mountain.

Pardon me, I don't mean to hype my work or anything.
